Bantam AA Queens Win Icebreaker Cup In the Soo!

The Bantam AA Queens defeated the Sault National Supply Wildcats by a score of 2-1 in the final of the IceBreaker Cup in Sault Ste. Marie on Sunday, November 4. The Wildcats fell behind 1-0 on a second-period Queen's goal by Bree Hollinsworth, but knotted the score on a third-period power play when Pavoni lifted a backhand past a sprawling Queens goaltender. But the officials sent a Wildcat to the box for interference with just 2:14 left to play, giving Thunder Bay's Courtney Tougas the chance to slip a shot past Alexander. The Wildcats pulled their netminder in favour of an extra attacker and sent a flurry of rubber toward the Thunder Bay net, but were unable to tie things up again.

Brittany Zuback (C) scored seven for the Queens in the five games.
